For Nutrition, Consumers Put Their Trust in Subway

Hi Everyone,

I found an article on a recent survey conducted about how much consumers trust quick service restaurants claims to nutrition. The Dallas-based market research firm, Decision Analyst Inc., performed a survey of more than 16,000 consumers asking them to name QSR's that they "trust completely", "trust somewhat", and "do not trust".
The QSR with the greatest amount of consumers trust in its nutritional claims, is Subway with 24.2%. This is double the amount of Chick-fil-A, which is the second-most trusted quick service restaurant.
Other QSR's such as Wendy's, Taco Bell, KFC, and Quiznos were involved in the study.

I choose this article because it not only pertains to our blog on health and nutrition, but because I think it is a topic for latest fads and/or upcoming trends. It might become a law across this country that every restaurant and food provider must display or have available the nutritional information for menu items. But as of right now, this is an important article that can catch the attention of people willing to trust their quick service restaurants.

  1. Well for one I put my trust in Subway too! Jarred's weight loss was a success and the fact he kept it off for many years just goes to show that maybe it really does work. The other restaurants named in the article I wouldn't really 100% trust that by eating their products I will loose weight.

If I was hungry and wanted to eat something healthy and on the go, the first thing that would come to mind would't be Chick Filet. When I think healthy I think Subway. The marketing around this company has worked magic becase I'm pretty sure America feels the same way. We look at Jarred's transformation and know that it is possible. We can eat a tasty meal and still be healthy.

  2. I also found this article to be pretty intersting. Over the past year there has been a huge increase in fast food restaurants trying to become healthier. This article was interesting because I too was wondering what restaurants are actually living up to the claim that they are "Healthier". I thought that more people would trust Subway and was not surprised that not many people trusted the other fast food places.

  3. I agree with Leya. When I need a quick grab to eat but still want to be somewhat healthy, taco bell, burger king and wendys don't come to my mind. When i go to wendys I go as a treat and only get what I like which is the chicken nuggets. Im not going to go for healthier options when I go there. With subway, there are many healthy options. When i think of subway, I never think of greasy or fried food its always cold cuts and good sandwiches. With the marketing subway used with Jarred for many years even before fast food tried to become healthier, it stuck into consumers minds. Subway will always be my first choice for a healthier meal.

I think this was a good short article to get the point across that even though fast food places are beginning to promote healthier options, subway will always top off as consumers most trusted.
