Ok ok so I know this might sound sappy but who wouldn't want to want to eat healthy on a day that it's so easy to pack on the pounds. I found this article on musclemagfitness.com. It's a quick and easy read that has recipies and tips on what to eat on the big day. On of their biggest pointers was to take the focus off of food. Often on Valentine's DAy people go out to eat to celebrate. Rather than going out, they sugguested eating in. When you eat in you are in control of what you eat because your making the food. If you do choose to go out to eat, they suggested that you share a meal with your partner. Also instead of just sitting down and eating, dancing is a fun way to spend time with your loved one by taking inches off your waist at the same time.
The article also listed recipes that you could make at home without feeling self consious about what your eating. Click here and take a look, the recipes vary from seafood to steak. Another sugestion of the website was eating slowly. When you take you time eating you get full faster, this also give you the time to look into your partners eyes and tell them how much you love them.
I loved this article and I know you will too. Even if you don't have a special someone to share Valentine's Day with, it's ok you could make many of these tasty treats for yourself.
Remember enjoy this day and it's not all about the food!
Thanks for reading,
Leya

So i could not connect to the website. So i tried googling it and it kept bringing me to this weird flower website. For what Leya did mention I think it is a great idea to push people to stay in. One, people need to save money more than ever now a days and two it is smarter and healthier when you are home because you control everything. For instance instead of frying pototoes you can bake them and I am sure no cook would do that for you or the server would give you some sort of attitude.

I found your article on musclemagfitness.com and I think it is a great one! A lot of people should realize that sometimes celebrations aren't about the food, but about the quality time you spend with a person or people.
ReplyDeleteLeya, like you said, this article does give quite a few great recipe ideas that sound amazing! And one tip that it also says is to pick a lower calorie dessert for your loved one. They list a few options like a bowl of fresh fruit salad or strawberries dipped in Balsamic vinegar. I wouldn't think of Balsamic vinegar as a dessert option but it would probably compliment strawberries pretty well.
This is a great article that a lot of people would appreciate.

I found your article on that website too. I wish i read this before Valentines day! I think it had great pointers. For Valentines day, I didnt want to deal with crowded restaurants I think it is better to make your dinner with your loved one. The article is right when it says that you have better control of what you are eating. I realized that whne me and my bf go out to eat, we always get an app as well as an entree for each of us which is usually huge and sometimes a dessert. When we cooked at home it was only chicken parm which we were able to control the amount of pasta on our plates as well as the portion of fried chicken.
ReplyDeleteCooking at home is alot healthier and romantic. It was a very cute article that I could relate to as well as use those recipes as ideas for other romantic and healthy dinners.
Like Nina said, im not sure how strawberries with balsamic vinegar would taste, yet I would definitely try it since it said it was a good compliment together.
Great article Leya!
